* Reefer Engineer (Vlissingen)
We are looking for a Reefer Engineer based in Vlissingen
The following are considered to be the job requirements for a controlled atmosphere technician:
1). To understand the installation and operation of the CA equipment on board the vessels.
2). To monitor the daily CA reports from the vessels and advise the vessel on any corrective action required to improve on board CA results. This includes issuing instructions to the vessels on which containers are to be gas freed each voyage due to failures in gas levels. This is a 7 day per week task.
3). To prepare any required reports for superiors regarding CA issues and keep them advised of problems and any future plans / ideas.
4). To arrange and supervise the installation and commissioning of CA units onboard chartered and owned vessels, including arranging via the vessels owners for the installation of any pipework, cabling etc that may be required.
5). To carryout on board training of ships personnel in all aspects of CA.
6). To arrange / perform all onboard maintenance of the CA units.
7). To provide technical backup to the vessels with regard to all aspects of CA and the associated equipment.
8). To arrange supply of spare parts and consumables as required by the vessels.
9). To ensure all regulations are followed regarding on board installations etc.
10). To visit the Ports with CA installations to check on their operations and work with the Tropical Ports on ways to improve CA results.
11). To visit vessels with CA units on board on a regular basis to carryout maintenance and monitor the condition of the companies equipment on board the vessels and check the onboard inventory of spare parts.
12). To maintain the companies CA manual and issue any CA Bulletins that are required for Safety aspects, maintenance, changes in procedures etc.
13). To track the companies inventory of CA units and associated equipment.
14). To ensure spare parts are readily available at all times for supply to the vessels.
15). To keep up to date with any new developments in CA and to make sure the Company complies with all current and future regulations.
16). To prepare the annual budget for CA operations and control costs.
17). To investigate any problems with CA and associated cargo and find solutions to the identified problems.
18). Establish and monitor routine reporting systems from vessels, ports, yards etc as required so that an overall picture of the situation is available at all times for CA and CA cargoes.
